Austin Wood – RHP – USC – Jr. 5IP 6H 2ER 1BB 6K (W, 1-0).

SEC

Hudson Randall – RHP – Florida – So. 6IP 7H 1ER 0BB 6K (W, 1-0)

Tommy Toledo – RHP – Florida – Jr. 2.1IP 2H 0ER 1BB 1K (S, 1)

Tyler Webb – LHP – South Carolina – So. 6IP 3H 1ER 2BB 4K (W, 1-0)

Bryan Harper – LHP – South Carolina – Jr. 1.2IP 2H 0ER 1BB 2K. Bryce Harper’s brother making a name for himself after transfer

Matt Price – RHP – South Carolina – So. 1.1IP 0H 0ER 0BB 0K (S, 1)

Kevin Gausman – RHP – LSU – Fr. 5.2IP 6H 2ER 0BB 6K. Nice first start for the blue chip talent and 2012 first round candidate as a draft eligible sophomore.

Matty Ott – RHP – LSU – Jr. 1IP 0H 0ER 0BB 2K. Encouraging sign that the ’09 Matty Ott is back.

Ryne Stanek – RHP – Arkansas – Fr. 4IP 0H 0ER 2BB 6K. Great debut. Will develop a nice inter-conference rivalry with fellow freshman Gausman.

Bradley Hendrix – RHP – Auburn – Sr. 1.2IP 5H 2ER 1BB 1K. Unsigned 30th round pick (Reds ’10)

Taylor Rogers – LHP – Kentucky – So. 6IP 7H 2ER 0BB 7K.

Kevin Ziomek – LHP – Vanderbilt – Fr. 5.1IP 4H 1ER 1BB 5K. ND but great start for a Freshman who I anticipated would be a midweek starter.

Big 12

Cole Green – RHP – Texas – Sr. 4IP 6H 6ER 1BB 5K. (L, 0-1) Uncharacteristically bad outing from someone who was so good last season.

Michael Wacha – RHP – Texas A&M – So. 6IP 5H 0ER 0BB 7K. A top prospect in the 2012 draft class.

Bobby Shore – RHP – Oklahoma – Sr. 5.1IP 5H 5ER 4BB 2K.

Trae Davis – RHP – Baylor – Fr. .2IP 0H 0ER 1BB 0K. (W, 1-0). Bluechip freshman picks up W in first appearance.

Andrew Heaney – LHP – Oklahoma State – So. 7IP 2H 0ER 1BB 8K. (W, 1-0). One of top LHP in the 2012 draft class.

Tom Lemke – RHP – Nebraska – So. 5.2IP 6H 2ER 1BB 3K.

ACC

Jed Bradley – LHP – Georgia Tech – Jr. 5.2IP 4H 1ER 2BB 10K. If Mark Pope continues to be successful on Fridays, head coach Danny Hall will look like a genius for letting ace Bradley throw on Saturdays.

DeAndre Smelter – RHP – Georgia Tech – Fr. 1.1IP 0H 0ER 0BB 2K. (W, 1-0) Freshman two way player Smelter is on my preseason Freshman All American team.

Tyler Wilson – RHP – Virginia – Sr. 6IP 3H 0ER 2BB 6K. (W,1-0) Over Auburn.

Patrick Johnson – RHP – UNC – Sr. 5.2IP 7H 1ER 3BB 6K. Strong start in ND that UNC would would against Fullerton.

Big East

Matt Barnes – RHP – Connecticut – Jr. 6IP 3H 2ER 3BB 11K (L, 0-1). Barnes will be a first round pick in 2011 but he took a tough luck loss against a good Minnesota team in the Big 10/Big East challenge.

Tony Zych – RHP – Louisville – Jr. 1IP 2H 0ER 0BB 2K (S, 2). Back to back saves for Zych who I would project as a 1s thru 3rd round arm at the moment.

Mountain West Conference

Kyle Winkler – RHP – TCU – Jr. 7IP 1H 0ER 0BB 8K (W, 1-0). Winkler will be a value pick for some team in June. I’d guess maybe in the 5-10 round range but that can change of course.

Taylor Cole – RHP – BYU – So. 5IP 4H 0ER 1BB 3K (W, 1-0)

Conference USA

Matthew Reckling – RHP – Rice – Jr. – 6IP 4H 0ER 2BB 4K. (W, 1-0)

Blake Forslund – RHP – Liberty – Jr. 4IP 6H 5ER 4BB 5K.

Big West Conference

Noe Ramirez – RHP – Cal State Fullerton – Jr. 7IP 6H 1ER 0BB 5K (W, 1-0). Strong win against rival Fullerton.

Nick Ramirez – LHP – Cal State Fullerton – Jr. 2IP 1H 0ER 3BB 2K. (S, 1). Unrelated Nick is the closer on top of being the #3 hitter fir the Titans.

Andrew Gagnon – RHP – Long Beach State – Jr. 7IP 4H 2ER 3BB 6K. He and Noe Ramirez are the two best pitching prospects in the Big South. Would have loved to see this face off in a 2-1 Fullerton win.

Tyler Pill – RHP – Cal State Fullerton – Jr. 6IP 7H 3ER 2BB 5K. Against North Carolina.

Dylan Floro – RHP – Cal State Fullerton – So. 4.1IP 3H 0ER 1BB 3K. (L, 0-1)

Mitch Patito – RHP – UC Riverside – So. 1IP 0H 0ER 0BB 2K. (S, 1)

Dylan Stuart – RHP – UC Riverside – Fr. 1.2IP 1H 0ER 0BB 2K.

Chase Johnson – RHP – Cal Poly – Fr. 1.2IP 5H 4H 3BB 1K. (L, 0-1)

West Coast Conference

Dylan Covey – RHP – San Diego – Fr. 7IP 7H 4ER 2BB 7K. Freshman All American with an OK debut.

Powell Fansler – LHP – Santa Clara – Fr. 1IP 0H 0ER 1BB 1K.

Ryan Carpenter – LHP – Gonzaga – Jr. 5IP 8H 3ER 3BB 5K. He and Viramontes are the best draft prospects in the West Coast Conference.

Missouri Valley Conference

Charlie Lowell – LHP – Wichita State – Jr. 5IP 1H 0ER 0BB 7K (W, 1-0).

Jacob Booden – RHP – Bradley – Jr. 5IP 2H 0ER 4BB 5K.

Mid American Conference

Zach Cooper – RHP – Central Michigan – Jr. 6.2IP 6H 3ER 3BB 6K.

Atlantic Sun Conference

Jacob Barnes – RHP – Florida Gulf Coast – Jr. 2IP 1H 0ER 0BB 5K. (S, 1) Dominate performance for 2011 draft prospect.

Ben Carhart – RHP – Stetson – Jr. 1IP 1H 0ER 0BB 1K.

Colonial Athletic Conference

Justin Bradley – RHP – UNC Wilmington – Jr. 5IP 5H 2ER 3BB 3K. (W, 1-0)

Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference

Ali Simpson – LHP – Bethune-Cookman – Jr. 6IP 1H 0ER 1BB 14K. (W, 1-0) I have no idea if Simpson is a prospect, but performances like this cannot be ignored. He’s on my radar.

Southland Conference

Carson Smith – RHP – Texas State – Jr. 2IP 3H 1ER 0BB 4K. Top draft prospect in the Southland conference.
